Why Study the Arts at Fisher?

Do you love music, theater, or visual art? Are you interested in exploring how the arts impact our culture? With a minor in Visual and Performing Arts, you'll be able to do just that!

The interdisciplinary nature of the arts minor will encourage you to view creativity as a multidimensional human attribute and to explore a variety of arts-related fields.

Explore Your Artistic Side

With a minor in Visual and Performing Arts, you'll take classes in visual art and culture, music, and theater. You'll be exposed to many forms of artistic expression through courses such as:

  • Beginning Painting/Drawing
  • Film and Society
  • Acting for Beginners
  • Digital Art
  • Introduction to Dance
  • Basic Music Theory
  • And many more!

Fisher to Participate in 2015 “If All of Rochester Reads the Same Book” Program


St. John Fisher College will be participating in this year’s “If All of Rochester Reads the Same Book” program by Writers and Books, and will hold a campus roundtable and serve as a host site in the chosen author’s reading tour. Lavery Library, the Visual and Performing Arts Program, English Department, and the Sustainability Program are sponsoring the events. Read More
