Digital Cultures Student Show Opening Reception March 12

Students in the Digital Cultures and Technologies (DCT) program will have their work displayed in a student show starting Thursday, March 12, in the Patricia O’Keefe Ross Gallery in the Joseph S. All week long, campus will be swarmed with local media who will be here for a series of “Meet the Media” panels sponsored by the Department of Media and Communication, the PRIMA Group, and the Public Relations Student Society of America. The panels will take place in the Introduction to PR course, but one panel will be open to the campus community. That panel will take place on Thursday, February 26, at 6:00 p.m. in the Wegmans School of Nursing Room 105. Read More

“Talking Abbey Live” Fisher Style

“Downton Abbey,” a wildly popular British period drama series that has fans buzzing and recapping anywhere they can, has been the impetus behind a show on Rochester’s WXXI-TV called “Talking Abbey Live.” The show airs every Sunday immediately following each “Downton Abbey” episode, and recently, three members of the Fisher faculty have been featured guests on the show, with a slew of Fisher alumni working on the show behind-the-scenes. Proietti ’67 to Serve as Guest Lecturer for February First Friday Lecture

Tom Proietti ’67, Resident Scholar in Media at Fisher, will serve as the first lecturer in the 2015 Spring First Friday Lecture Series when he presents, “The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and its Influence on American Television.” The lecture will take place on Friday, February 6, in the Joseph S. Skalny Welcome Center Board Room at 10:00 a.m., and will include a 9:00 a.m. mass followed by breakfast. Read More
