Women & Gender Studies Minor
What is the Women and Gender Studies Minor?
The Women and Gender Studies Minor is an interdisciplinary minor that will enrich your understanding of women’s contributions to society and the role of gender in shaping human life.
By viewing the relationship between gender and power from a variety of perspectives - social, artistic, historical, and scientific - you will begin to grasp the ways in which gender is constructed. The minor also investigates how gender has affected the lives of men and women all over the world and throughout human history.
The minor is a perfect fit if you are planning a career in business, law, politics, international relations, science, health professions, social and community service, or education.
Women and Gender Studies Club
The Women and Gender Studies Club sponsors a number of events throughout the school year, including: Love Your Body Day, the Clothesline Project, self-defense classes, movie nights, and Breast Cancer Awareness Week. Through both formal and informal means, the club creates an open and safe space for students to examine issues related to gender.
