School of Education Inducts 26 into Alpha Gamma Omicron

The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education held an induction ceremony for 26 new members of the Alpha Gamma Omicron chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education, on Friday, May 3.

The 26 new members, who came from the undergraduate, graduate, and executive leadership programs in the School of Education, were invited to join the honor society based on their academic achievements.

Kappa Delta Pi, founded by Dr. William Bagley in 1911 at the University of Illinois, was established to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. The founders chose the name from the Greek words to represent knowledge, duty, and power. Pioneering from its beginning by including women as well as men, Kappa Delta Pi grew from a local chapter to the international organization it is today, comprising 600 chapters and more than 40,000 members.
