Description
St. John Fisher College is an independent, liberal arts institution in the Catholic tradition of American higher education. The College emphasizes liberal learning for students in traditional academic disciplines, as well as for those in more directly career-oriented fields. The College welcomes qualified students, faculty, and staff regardless of religious or cultural background.
The campus is situated on 154 park-like acres-a beautiful setting for 24 modern buildings and a warm, friendly campus community. The College now offers 32 academic majors in the humanities, social sciences, sciences, business, and nursing, as well as 11 pre-professional programs.
Fisher now offers 10 graduate programs and 3 doctoral programs.
Tuition

Activities
Students may choose from a wide range of campus clubs and organizations, including student government, music groups, language clubs, cultural organizations, student publications, and intramural sports. Many academic departments also sponsor clubs.
Athletics
Athletics are an important part of campus life. The College is a Division III member of the NCAA, the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference, and the Empire 8.
Men compete in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, rowing, soccer, tennis, and track & field. Women compete in basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, and track & field.
Financial Aid
100% of first-year students receive some form of financial assistance. The average offer to incoming students is nearly $20,000. Need-based and merit-based scholarships, as well as grants, loans, and part-time employment, are available for eligible students.

Points of Pride
Five Fisher faculty members have received prestigious Fulbright Scholarships, an honor accorded to only about one thousand faculty members in the nation each year. Also, for the fourth year in a row, Fisher has been named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary service to America's communities.

History
Founded in 1948 by the Congregation of St. Basil as a Catholic College for men, St. John Fisher College became independent in 1968 and coeducational in 1971 and continues to honor its Catholic and Basilian heritage.
