Dr. DelMonte received his B.S. Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut (1989), then completed an ASHP residency at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. (1990) and Completed his education with a Pharm.D. degree from the University of Colorado (2004). He came to Rochester to practice pediatrics at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). Throughout his 20 years at URMC he performed numerous roles including pediatric clinic staff (NICU), pediatric service chief, clinical service chief, and pediatric clinic specialist (PICU).

In addition to his clinical role, he became involved in the internship program in 1990, became the coordinator in 1998, and served as coordinator until he left in 2010. He has been an APPE rotation preceptor since 1990 serving in that role with 20 different schools of pharmacy throughout the United States. Involved with the URMC residency program since it’s inception, he added to the program by developing and coordinating his own PGY-1 residency in pediatrics starting in 2007.

Dr. DelMonte has been involved with the school prior to the start of the first class. He participated with the original interviews for Pharm.D. candidates and was an original member of the IPAC committee. In August 2010 he joined the Fisher family as our Director of Experiential Education.

Dr. DelMonte participates in many other activities related to consulting pharmacy. He has been a consultant to clinics in Western NY for over 19 years, NYS Court cases (Pharmaceutical issues), a journal reviewer for the Annals of Pharmacotherapy and a reviewer and mentor for University of Colorado NTPD rotation challenges. Recently he has been a New York State Compounding Part III Exam proctor and has become a member of the Monroe County Medical Reserve Corps and ServNY due to his interest in bioterrorism.

Overall, Dr. DelMonte’s interests include pediatrics, OB/GYN, student education, and bioterrorism.

In addition to his involvement with the Monroe County Medical Reserve Corps and ServNY, Dr. DelMonte devotes time each year as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army no matter how cold it is. He has been an active member of many organizations including President of RASHP and Vice President of Membership of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group

He has been the recipient of numerous awards including:
