M.S. in Math/Science/Technology Education
The M.S. in Math/Science/Technology Education Program prepares teachers with a strong background in both the content of mathematics, science, and technology as well as the particular needs of diverse learners with respect to the teaching of mathematics, science, and technology.
Program Highlights
M.S. in Math/Science/Technology Education - Initial Certification
For candidates who have a bachelor's degree and who seek initial certification in Math, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics for grades 7-12.
- 33 credits for certification
- 18 additional credits for M.S. degree which is completed after student has begun working as a teacher
- Structured around working professionals' schedules
- Classes are offered in the evenings and occasionally Friday evenings/Saturdays (every other weekend)
- Initial Teaching Certification can be obtained in 4 semesters (15 months)
M.S. in Math/Science/Technology Education AND Special Education - Initial Certification
For candidates who have a bachelor's degree and who seek initial certification in Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Special Education for grades 7-12.
- 45 credits for certification
- 18 additional credits for M.S. degree which is completed after student has begun working as a teacher
- Structured around working professionals' schedules
- Classes are offered in the evenings and occasionally Friday evenings/Saturdays (every other weekend)
- Initial Teaching Certification can be obtained in 4 semesters (15 months)
M.S. in Math/Science/Technology Education
For teachers who hold initial or provisional classroom certification and wish for further preparation in math, science, and technology education.
- 36 credit hour program
- Structured around working professionals' schedules
- Classes are offered in the evening
- Flexible schedule – can take one, two, or three classes each semester
- Starts in the fall, spring, and summer semesters
- Programs available for adolescent math, adolescent science, and childhood teachers
- Elementary Math Specialist program for childhood teachers

- A copy of New York State Teaching Certification is required or proof of pending certification is required for students just completing their undergraduate studies
