Maintenance Services consist of carpentry, heating/cooling, electrical, plumbing, painting and locksmith. Emergency service requests are radio dispatched to mechanics for immediate attention. Non-emergency requests are assigned to the appropriate mechanic and are generally completed within five business days. The requester will receive email notification once the work order has been assigned and also when it is closed. Key requestors will be notified by email to pick up their key(s) at the Facilities Services office.
Service requests requiring entrance to students' rooms are not scheduled before 10 a.m. unless the student requests otherwise. The mechanic will knock on the student's door several times. If there is no answer, they will use a pass key to slightly open the door. They will announce themselves as "maintenance" in a loud voice prior to entering the room. While working in the room, they will prop the door open. At the completion of the work, they will leave a "work order service card" stating that the requested work has been completed or additional work will be required and when that will occur.
Student furniture requests for bunking and lofting are generally completed within one week except for the beginning of each semester. Due to a high volume of requests at the beginning of each semester, we are unable to commit to a completion time frame.
Residence hall public spaces are cleaned Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
All other buildings including the library, Student Life Center, Kearney Hall and the academic buildings consisting of classrooms, labs and offices are cleaned Sunday – Thursday from 10:30 p.m. – 7 a.m.
We provide limited housekeeping services for public spaces on campus on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Grounds Department maintains the campus roads, sidewalks, steps, lawns, trees, shrubbery and flower beds. In addition, they maintain Growney Stadium, turf-playing fields, baseball and softball fields. The goal of our snow removal operations is to provide safe parking lots, sidewalks and steps before 7 a.m. and maintain them during the course of a snow event.
