Financial Aid Checklist for Current Undergraduate Students

  • Using your Personal Identification Number (PIN) from the U.S. Department of Education (if you have misplaced your pin, you can get a reminder on the Federal Student Aid PIN website), complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). St. John Fisher College's priority deadline is April 1st and Fisher's school code is 002821.
  • Complete the Express TAP Application (ETA) online following the FAFSA, or the paper application mailed to you, or on the TAP website. St. John Fisher College's undergraduate TAP school code is 0735.
  • Review your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the FAFSA for accuracy. If you did not use the IRS Data Retrieval when initially submitting your FAFSA, make a correction to your FAFSA to submit income using the IRS Data Retrieval process after you have filed your federal tax return.
  • Investigate private resources of financial aid for college. Check your school, local library, and online at websites such as Fastweb.
  • Fulfill housing deposits by college deadline.
  • Promptly respond to any school requests for additional information or documents, such as copies of federal tax transcripts and W-2's.
  • Notify the Financial Aid Office of any outside scholarships, grants, or other resources you have received or will receive by entering the information on Fish 'R' Net.
  • Receive an email notifying you that your financial aid awards listing estimated aid eligibility are available on Fish 'R' Net. Log on to Fish 'R' Net and review the information. Contact the Financial Aid Office with any questions.
  • Accept financial aid offered on Fish 'R' Net.
  • If you are accepting a Federal Direct Student Loan for the first time, complete entrance counseling and the Master Promissory Note.
  • If you are accepting a Perkins loan for the first time, complete the Perkins Loan entrance counseling and master promissory note.
  • Complete any financing options paperwork needed, such as the payment plan application, Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan application (all borrowers) and Master Promissory Note (first time borrowers), and/or a private student loan application. Additional information can be found on the Financing Options page.
  • Be alert to any electronic billing notices and payment information provided by Student Accounts.
  • Explore placement procedures and job availability if awarded work-study or find out about other student employment opportunities available on campus.
