OIT Announcements
Dear SJFC Community,
Beginning the week of May 13, the Office of Information Technology will be migrating the campus voicemail system to a new platform (Cisco’s Unity Voicemail). To facilitate this transition we will be migrating one department at a time. This will allow us to ensure everyone is transitioned smoothly. We will be reaching out to each department to document and schedule the process.
On the migration day for your department, the OIT staff will work to ensure each user is migrated and able to setup and access their new voicemail box.
Information regarding how to access and use the new voicemail system is available online on the Telephony website. In addition, OIT will provide a printed copy of this information at the time of migration.
New Features: Unity provides integration with our current email system. A main feature of Unity is all voicemail messages will be delivered to your email inbox as an audio attachment providing you the ability to listen to your voicemail messages from your email inbox. You will still be able to listen to voicemail message from the phone as well.
Please note during the migration users still on the old voicemail system will not be able to forward messages to users who have been migrated to Unity. OIT will work through the process quickly in an effort to minimize any frustration on the part of our end users.
If you have any questions, please contact the OIT Help Desk at (585) 385-8016 or email us at helpdesk@sjfc.edu.
