Help Topic Detail
Remote Assistance
PC Anywhere
is used by OIT technicians to remotely assist users after a user has requested assistance through the Help Desk. Before a technician is able to assist a user at his/her computer, the user must be at the computer and the user will need to grant the technician access when the Remote Assistance pop-up is displayed. At this time, Remote Assistance is only available for college computers on the SJFC network.

Additionally, LogMeIn
is used by OIT technicians to remotely assist users who are off campus and/or on their own personal computer and have requested assistance through the Help Desk. The user must be at the computer and the user will need to grant the technician access when the Remote Assistance pop-up is displayed.

To protect the end-users’ privacy and security, OIT staff is only permitted to use Remote Assistance to help a faculty or staff member after the faculty or staff member has requested assistance and accepted the remote assistance connection.
Please contact the Director of Technology Support Services if you have questions about OIT’s use of Remote Assistance tools at SJFC.
