At its annual Accounting Awards Banquet, St. John Fisher College announced that Robert Tokarz ’71 was named the 2010 Outstanding Accounting Alumnus of the Year. Tokarz is a retired partner of Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he worked for 36 years.

The Department of American Studies and the School of Arts and Sciences at St. John Fisher College are pleased to announce the second annual "America Seen" photography lecture. This year’s speaker will be Karen Halverson, a highly acclaimed landscape photographer. Her lecture, entitled "Photographic Explorations in the American West," will be held Thursday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Basil Hall, room 135. The event is free and open to the public.

On Saturday, March 13, Dr. Donald Bain, President of St. John Fisher College, presided as the Grand Marshal of the 2010 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Rochester. Dr. Bain, who traces his Irish ancestry to County Kerry, first visited Ireland in the autumn of 1964.

The art gallery at the Joseph S. Skalny Welcome Center at St. John Fisher College will open a new exhibit on Monday, March 15. "Forgotten Ireland: Defining a National Identity Through Art in Early Twentieth Century Ireland" will be on display through April 30, and is free and open to the public.

Singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson, best known for his platinum-selling single, "Come on Get Higher," will perform at St. John Fisher College on Friday, April 23 at 8 p.m. in the Student Life Center. The concert is sponsored by Fisher’s student-run Spring Event Committee. The performance is open to all Fisher students, faculty, staff, and the general public. The doors will open at 7 p.m.

Dr. Asim Abu-Baker, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacist at the Wegmans School of Pharmacy at St. John Fisher College, will present on Friday, March 5, as part of the College's First Friday Faculty Lecture Series. His lecture, "Pharmacy Practice An International Perspective," begins at 10 a.m. in Basil 135 on the Fisher campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Over the weekend, more than 300 dancers and 100 volunteers exchanged sleep for 24 hours of dancing for a good cause. The 28th annual Teddi Dance for Love at St. John Fisher College raised $45,638 for Camp Good Days and Special Times.
