2015 Lobene Lecture to Feature Best-Selling Author Dr. Sherry Turkle March 23

St. John Fisher College will present the 2015 Lobene Lecture on Monday, March 23, featuring MIT professor and best-selling author, Dr. Sherry Turkle. Her talk is being sponsored by Mark Lobene ’76, who established the Lobene Lecture Series. It is also being supported by the Digital Cultures and Technologies Program in the School of Arts and Sciences. The lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Cleary Family Auditorium, and it is free and open to the public. Read More

College to Host Storytelling Festival

On Wednesday, March 4, St. John Fisher College’s Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education and Lavery Library will host the 17th Rochester City School District Annual Storytelling Festival. Last year’s festival, which is free to attend, attracted over 200 people to campus and included Rochester students in grades 3 through 8 who participated in a storytelling competition. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., and the storytelling begins at 6:30 p.m. in a variety of classrooms in the Wegmans School of Nursing. Read More

All week long, campus will be swarmed with local media who will be here for a series of “Meet the Media” panels sponsored by the Department of Media and Communication, the PRIMA Group, and the Public Relations Student Society of America. The panels will take place in the Introduction to PR course, but one panel will be open to the campus community. That panel will take place on Thursday, February 26, at 6:00 p.m. in the Wegmans School of Nursing Room 105. Read More
