St. John Fisher College Observes Diverse Holiday Traditions with "Day of Celebration"

On Saturday, December 5, St. John Fisher College hosted its annual "Day of Celebration," an all-day, campus-wide festival that showcases holiday celebrations from various races, cultures, ethnicities, and traditions. These observations include Kwanzaa, Three Kings, Hanukkah, Christmas, Asian New Year, Winter Fest, and Ramadan. This year, the focus of the Day of Celebration was the Filipino culture. Read More

Faculty/Staff Holiday Project Donation Deadline is December 5

This year, St. John Fisher College has partnered with John Williams School No. 5 to provide some holiday cheer for the school's 85 third-graders. To complete this holiday project, the College has asked each faculty/staff member to purchase the five following items (one of each): markers/crayons; coloring book; gloves/mittens; puzzles; and a book. The items will be used to fill a stocking for each of the third-graders. Read More

Wegmans School of Pharmacy Fills 95 Boxes of Supplies for Operation Christmas Child

In November, the Wegmans School of Pharmacy's student chapter of Christian Pharmacist Fellowship International (CPFI) assembled and shipped 95 shoeboxes full of gifts for children throughout the world. Nominations Sought for Mary Ellen Milne Student Employee of the Year Award

Nominations are being accepted for the Mary Ellen Milne Student Employee of the Year Award. To be eligible, students must be employed in a position at St. John Fisher College for a period of two consecutive semesters. Faculty and staff are encouraged to carefully consider the students, both work-study and non-work-study, that they work with. A completed nomination form must be submitted by Friday, January 23. On Thursday, October 22, the Sport Studies Department will welcome Mike Behan, Director of Business Development for the Cleveland Cavaliers, to speak on campus. Behan is the latest professional to participate in the Sport Studies Speaker Series, which brings successful and active members of the sport industry to Fisher to speak with students, faculty, and staff. St. John Fisher College Partners With West Irondequoit and Webster Schools to Develop Post-Secondary Program

St. John Fisher College, West Irondequoit Schools, and Webster Schools are partnering to develop a new post-secondary program. The foundation of the partnership is a shared mission of preparing students for lifelong learning and to become productive community members. The central goal of the program, which takes the form of a satellite high school classroom on the Fisher campus, is for students to develop greater independence, as well as vocational and educational skills.
