“AMA Saves Lives” Campaign Winners Announced

St. John Fisher College’s American Marketing Association (AMA) Chapter announced the winners of the “AMA Saves Lives” video contest on December 8 during an awards gala in the Campus Center Mainstage. The national contest aims to increase awareness of the need for organ donation, and to inspire people to become registered organ donors.
A total of 24 videos were submitted by Fisher students to YouTube, and garnered a total of 2,455 views to date. According to Dr. Monica Hodis, professor in the Bittner School of Business and the club’s advisor, five students have registered to be organ donors as a result of the contest. Hodis, along with faculty members Dr. Todd Sodano and Professor Tom Proietti, served as contest judges.
Students were eligible for prizes in five categories:

First place:
Elise Swackhamer and Melissa Peterson – submitted a total of six videos, individually or together
Second place:
Christine Martz – submitted four videos
Honorable mentions:
Gloria Coan, Uwa Oduwa, Tessa Murray - submitted two videos each

Ryan Carbone – “Save a Life Organ Donation” with 244 views
Honorable mention:
Amanda Coffey – “How to Save a Life” with 150 views

All videos can be found on a YouTube playlist, created specifically for the Fisher entries. The competition runs through December 16, and Fisher is competing against other schools to have the most watched videos. So, students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to keep watching!
