Foreign Language Scholarship
Each year, St. John Fisher College offers two Foreign Language Scholarships to high school seniors to recognize achievement in foreign language as sound preparation for college work.
Scholarship recipients will receive $3,000 annually, over four years, if they complete two foreign language courses during their first year at Fisher and maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA.
To qualify, students must apply for admission to the College and be nominated by a teacher or counselor; the nomination package must be postmarked by January 15, 2017.

These scholarships are available to all high school seniors with proficiency in French, German, Italian, or Spanish, and a minimum 1000 SAT (Math and Critical Reading) or 22 ACT composite score.
Students of all majors are eligible for this scholarship, with priority given to those majoring in a foreign language. (Fisher offers majors in French and Spanish.)
Candidates must be nominated by a teacher or counselor and demonstrate:
- Excellence in scholarship, character, leadership, and service
- Minimum composite score of 1000 (Math and Critical Reading) on the SAT or 22 on the ACT
- No less than 85% cumulative GPA (schools using a different grading scale must convert their notation to a 100-point scale)
- Communicative ability in the language with complete speech utterances beyond the present tense
