Management

Success in business is often the result of smart decision-making on the part of managers and other industry leaders. When it comes to managing your professional future, make the wise decision by enrolling in St. John Fisher College’s management program.

As a management major, you will come to a greater understanding of how and why organizations function the way they do. The program teaches you to tackle legal and ethical issues facing today's business leaders using critical thinking skills and keen business acumen.

There’s more good news should you decide to pursue an advanced degree in the business field. You may qualify for the College’s accelerated 4+1 MBA program, which allows you to complete your MBA degree within a year of completing your undergraduate degree.

Program Overview

The curriculum for Fisher’s management program consists largely of courses in accounting, marketing, finance, and, of course, management. One globalization course, which focuses on international business matters, six business electives, and a cadre of select liberal arts and sciences classes round out the management program’s course requirements.

As a Fisher undergraduate, you also will be required to fulfill the College Core requirements. A number of the management program’s select liberal arts and sciences courses may count toward College Core fulfillment, thus effectively minimizing your required course load.

Life After Fisher

Upon graduation, management majors enjoy an excellent job placement record. Feedback from a Fisher placement survey has indicated that the mid-range of starting salaries for our graduates is $20,000-$30,000, and it is not uncommon to see figures above $40,000.

Employers of our recent graduates include:

  • Paychex
  • Xerox
  • Eddie Bauer
  • M&T Bank
  • Mass Mutual
  • Wegmans
  • U.S. Army
  • Frontier Communications
  • Catholic Charities

I have found great value in my Fisher education and have had the opportunity to encompass many of the concepts and pieces of advice provided by my professors in my every day work. ”
