Sociology Internships and Activites

As a sociology major, you are encouraged to complete at least one internship during your junior or senior year. These placements provide you with an example of how to apply sociological concepts to concrete situations and organizations, and they also give you an opportunity to explore career interests.

Internships give you valuable field experience for your transition to a possible professional career. You will attend scheduled meetings with your internship coordinator and make weekly entries in an internship log to document your experience.

The Center for Career and Academic Planning recommends Handshake as the starting spot for current internship postings. Find additional career preparation and development resources in CCAP's Career Toolkit.
