Statistics Program Requirements

The statistics program emphasizes mathematical statistics and probability; applied statistical methods; data analytic and statistical computing skills; consulting and communication skills; and fieldwork experience,

B.A. Statistics

All courses that are required or may be used as electives for the major are included in the determination of the grade point average in the major. Since the statistics major is completed as part of a Bachelor of Arts degree, a minor or second major is required. A statistics major may NOT minor in mathematics.

The statistics major consists of at least 41 credit hours, as follows. Unless otherwise noted, all courses are three credits.

Requirements

  • MATH 302 - Mathematical Statistics II
  • MATH 410 - Probability Models
  • STAT 210 - Regression Analysis
  • STAT 220 - Experimental Design
