Bio

A well-regarded expert in the history of the Greater Rochester region, in addition to teaching, Vacca currently serves as the official historian for Monroe County. She is a contributor to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle's Retrofitting Rochester segment, offering background on Rochester’s history, has given interviews on NPR's American Made Series regarding Rochester’s ties to manufacturing.

Vacca can also discuss topics including the Irish community in Rochester, the history of Rochester neighborhoods, and the Rochester Riots, as well as the women suffragette movement and the role women played in World War II.
