According to the publication, the methodology used for making the Military Friendly® Schools list has changed the student-veteran landscape to one that is much more transparent, and has played a significant role over the past years in capturing and advancing best practices to support military students across the country.
St. John Fisher College has been named to the 2017 Military Friendly® Schools List, released today by Victory Media, the leader in successfully connecting the military and civilian worlds for the fourth consecutive year.
Now in its eighth year, the Military Friendly® Schools designation is awarded to the top colleges, universities, and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace military students, and to dedicate resources to ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation.
“We are proud to serve more than 50 student veterans as they pursue their educational goals at St. John Fisher College,” said President Gerard Rooney. “It is an honor to be recognized as a military friendly school, further emphasizing our commitment to providing an exceptional student experience to veterans and their families.”
The designation process includes extensive research and a data-driven survey of schools nationwide approved for Post-9/11 GI Bill funding. The survey is administered for free and is open to all post-secondary schools who wish to participate, and captures leading practices in military support on campus as well as graduation and employment outcomes.
