Senior Week Brings Class of 2017 Together

The Senior Convocation Brunch was an opportunity for the Class of 2017 to gather one final time to reflect on the past four years. Held on Sunday, May 7, it also served as an opportunity for the College to bestow several awards upon members of the class, recognizing their leadership and academic successes.

Three awards were given, including:

  • John A. Murry Leadership Award: James Flagler
  • Ruth Ann Constantino Senior Award: Michael Vo Le
  • Student Life Senior Leadership Award: Kyle Cataldo, Madison Hornick, Alexandra Hristodoulou, Anthony Lee, Taylor Sanders, Hilary Wilcox
Twenty-two students were named to the 2017 Who’s Who among Students in American Universities & Colleges list.

The College also publicly recognized undergraduate students named to the Who’s Who among Students in American Universities & Colleges list. Undergraduates included in the 2017 edition are: Megan Bleck, Madiya Bracamante, Jillian Branciforte, Colby Brown, Kyle Cataldo, Yamiles Espinal, Alicia Girard, Madison Hornick, Alexandra Hristodoulou, McKayla Johnson, Anthony Lee, Lindsey Michaud, Adam Moran, Chenisvel Nunez, Cory Quealy, Dominique Recuparo, James Rustowicz, Chelsea Sedlak, Kassondra Tremaine, Hilary Wilcox, Luke Wright, and Jacob Zarzycki.

Josh Ungaro, treasurer of the Class of 2017, presented Phil Castleberry, vice president for institutional advancement, with a $5,125 check, a symbol of funds raised through the senior class gift campaign.

On Thursday, May 11, at the Senior Send-Off, Josh Ungaro, treasurer of the Class of 2017, presented Phil Castleberry, vice president for institutional advancement, with a $5,125 check, a symbol of funds raised through the senior class gift campaign. The funds raised by the class were supplemented by a $600 gift from President and Mrs. Rooney, and Lackmann Culinary Serves also donated $1,000. The 2017 class gift supports the Student Hardship Grant, providing one-time financial assistance to upperclassmen faced with a financial hardship that may prevent them from completing their studies.

At the send-off, senior Diane Tran was given the Alumni Association Award.

At the Baccalaureate Mass, held on Friday, May 12, two members of the Class of 2017 were honored by the Office of Campus Ministry.
