Fisher’s Nursing Graduate Programs among U.S. News’ Top 130

Master’s programs offered through St. John Fisher College’s Wegmans School of Nursing are among the top 130 programs in the country, according to a ranking by U.S. News & World Report. Fisher ranked No. 129 for Best Nursing Schools - Master’s in the 2020 edition of the publication’s “Best Grad Schools Nursing” lists.

“I am especially grateful to Dr. Colleen Donegan and Dr. John Kirchgessner for their leadership of the School of Nursing’s graduate programs and for the knowledge and skills of our faculty who are at the core of this success,” said Dr. Dianne Cooney Miner, dean of the School. “I also want to acknowledge the clinical support of our community partners who so willingly share their time and expertise with our graduate students.”

The School offers five Master of Science in Nursing degrees including Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner; Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner; Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; Primary Care Family Nurse Practitioner; and Adult/Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist; as well as a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling.

Speaking to the strength of the School’s standards and curriculum, all of its programs have earned accreditation from state and national accrediting bodies. The School has also secured millions of dollars in grant funding. Most recently, the School was gifted $5.8 million by Tom Golisano, founder of Paychex, and the Golisano Foundation to launch the Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing.
