Notes from the Toddler Room

Happy New Year!!! We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas break! We are very happy to be back and anxious to start January with our school friends. If your little one seems "upset" about returning to school, this is normal. After a break in routine, it can be difficult to adjust once again to separating from Mom and Dad and siblings.

This month we will be investigating winter creatures big and small. Since we love snow so much we are going to learn about wildlife that also prefer the winter and cold weather. We are also very excited about the week we dedicate to our pets! Not to worry if your family does not have a pet at home...We will get plenty of animal time in, anyway! If you happen to have a pet at home and would like to share a photo with us, please do so! (A paper computer picture of Rover would be just fine!) No pressure if not.

Later in the month we will begin our units on letters and then shapes. We notice letters in our room each day and out in the world, and now we'll really get down to focusing on them! Shapes are everywhere and are fundamental in so much of what our brains are soaking up...can't wait for this exciting topic!!

Please continue to bring in snow pants, boots, etc. As always, please contact us if you have any questions, concerns, or thoughts.

Sincerely,
Francesca and Shannon
