03/08/2020 - Meet C.J. Wild, this week’s featured senior in the Countdown to Commencement series. The philosophy and religious studies major is the first to be nominated by three members of the Fisher faculty and staff: Dr. Tim Madigan, professor and chair of philosophy and classical studies; Fr. William Graf, associate professor and chair of religious studies; and Matt Berry, assistant director of freshman admissions.
03/04/2020 - Go above and beyond with anything you are asked to do. That’s the lesson Jackie Adamo learned while serving as an intern with the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship over the summer.
03/03/2020 - Dr. Roger L. Easton, Jr., a faculty member at the Rochester Institute of Technology, will present the lecture, "Modern Imaging Technologies and a New Golden Age of Manuscript Studies," at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, in Cleary Family Auditorium.
02/20/2020 - A new art installation in Pioch Hall highlights recent efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive environment on campus. The project consists of a series of flag-inspired panels representing inclusion, patriotism, and compassion in the context of the many intersectional communities at Fisher. This creative undertaking is just one result of ongoing interdepartmental diversity and inclusion work at the College.
02/19/2020 - Graduates from the Class of 2019 are finding success in their lives after Fisher, according to results from the First Destinations Survey (FDS) administered by the College annually to all bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degree recipients.
02/17/2020 - Tyler Adams ’20, a management major at St. John Fisher College, is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Fisher Forward, the College’s largest comprehensive fundraising campaign.
02/10/2020 - Dr. Wendi Sierra, assistant professor in the English and interactive media programs at St. John Fisher College, says that preserving an indigenous language is a formidable task. She says many native languages have a “missing generation”—parents or even grandparents who know little or nothing of the language, making it hard to revitalize its daily or home use.
02/09/2020 - The next member of the Class of 2020 to be featured in the Countdown to Commencement series is Ranita Williams, an education and American studies major who was nominated by Erin Barry, director of the Institute for Civic and Community Engagement.
02/06/2020 - Jeremy Sarachan, chair of the St. John Fisher College Department of Media and Communication, recently won the Audience Favorite Award for his film, “Active Voices,” during the Shmoovies Film Festival, held at The Cinema in Rochester, New York in January.
02/05/2020 - Students from two courses in the Department of Media and Communication classes attended a movement workshop led by Darren Stevenson, artistic director and CEO of Push Physical Theatre, a local performance company that uses the physical movement of the body to tell a story and convey emotion.
