Additional Benefits

Along with generous health and retirement benefits, Fisher offers a number of additional benefits including tuition assistance, an employee assistance plan, worker's compensation, and more.

Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)

Fisher offers an Employee Assistance Program [pdf] to all its employees. The program provides free, confidential, and professional assistance to help employees and their families resolve problems that affect their personal lives or job performance. These problems may include alcohol or drug abuse, marital difficulties, financial or legal problems, emotional difficulties, or parent/child issues.

Workers’ Compensation

If you incur an accident, injury, and/or illness while working on campus, immediately notify your supervisor/manager and the Office of Safety and Security. You must also complete an internal Accident Report Form [pdf] as soon as possible following the incident. This formed must be signed by both you and your supervisor and forwarded to the Human Resources Department.

My Better Benefits Discount Program

A variety of discounts are available to employees through Fisher's membership in the my Better Benefits program. Current employees may view the 2024 member ID number on mySJF (login required).

For more information on the participating merchants and the discounts offered, please visit the my Better Benefits website.

Domestic Partner Coverage

Fisher offers domestic partner coverage for health and dental plans only. Under this policy, a full-time employee may enroll his/her domestic partner and their partner's dependent children in a University-sponsored health and/or dental insurance plan. When an employee enrolls a domestic partner in a University-sponsored insurance plan, the employee does not benefit from the same pre-tax benefits that married employees do. More detailed information on this plan and its tax implications can be found below.

Employee Meal Plan

Fisher Dining Services now offers a 30-swipe meal plan for Fisher employees. You may use the swipes for entry into the all-you-care-to-eat Ward-Haffey Dining Hall or in Sono or Murphy Sub Shoppe as a meal exchange (one swipe for a bundled meal deal). In the Employee 30 plan, meal swipes roll over from year to year as long as the holder is employed at the University.
